Talnar isn't an elf; he lives on a world called Aquili, in a
technologically advanced interstellar empire. He grew up as a
"feral," though -- an orphaned wild child. (I didn't like the
way the original penciled background turned out, so I used
a photo-editing program to tweak it.)
