A Chinese (sort of) Dragon in clear Baltic Amber.
This is what's known as intaglio; carving into the back of a clear stone
or surface, so that from the front, the figure looks dimensional, and
rather like it's been captured inside whatever it was carved in.
I used a Dremel variable-speed drill with wood-carving bits.
It's very rough compared to my roommate's work, but
A) I don't have nearly as much practice at it, and
B) My roomie has the advantage of steady hands.
