Amy L. Finkbeiner

Personal Information
I'm a thirty-oddish freelance artist from the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area; I specialize in Fantasy, Science Fiction and anime-inspired fan art. Most of my work is done in either color pencils, ink, or acrylic paints. I'm still teaching myself/experimenting with the acrylics, so currently there are more color pencil pieces posted. I'm also in the process of learning how to do scrimshaw and intaglio carving on Baltic Amber -- but at this point those are few and far between, and darned hard to get good pictures of besides! (Oh, for a digital camera with good close-up capability... **sigh**)
I share my house with two roommates (who haven't given me permission to post anything about them on my site yet), five cats, and a varying number of fish.
Besides drawing and painting, I work for the US Postal Service. (Yes, folks, she IS crazy enough for a Post Office job!! [deranged grin]) I also read a lot, watch anime, make pathetic attempst to maintain the house, and spend time pampering the household cats. I belong to several fannish Weyr clubs for Anne McCaffrey's "Dragonriders of Pern" series, for which I've both written and illustrated. I'm also a sometime-member of the S.C.A. [Society for Creative Anachronism, a medieval historical re-creation group] and really want to get back to their biggest annual event, the Pennsic War, one of these years.
'Professional' Information for FireHorse Fantasy Arts
My "day job" is taking up a lot of time and energy, so I'm not currently taking commissions for pictures and character portraits, aside from the few I've already accepted. Many apologies!
Some of my anime fan art can occasionally be found available for auction on eBay -- look for seller ID "changeling13"!
E-mail me for details if you'd like to know more; if not, just have a look around and enjoy the site!
